Emerald's compliance with the GIPS® standards has been verified by Ashland Partners from 1/01/2002 to 9/30/2008 and by Beacon Verification Services from 9/30/2008 to 12/31/2010. In addition, a performance examination was conducted on the EAS Hybrid, Concentrated Equity, and Global Cycle Composite for the period 10/31/2002 through 12/31/2010. Emerald has voluntarily engaged Beacon Verification Services to perform verification of Emerald as being compliant with GIPS®. Verification is the inspection of an investment management firm's performance measurement processes and procedures by an independent third party. The independent verifier will issue a "verification report" that confirms the verifier's opinion in writing that the firm has complied with all the composite construction requirements of the GIPS® Standards on a firm-wide basis, and the firm's processes and procedures are designed to calculate and present performance results in compliance with the GIPS® standards. Emerald has also engaged Beacon Verification to conduct a performance examination of our marketed investment composites. While undergoing third party verification is voluntary, Emerald believes that verification demonstrates our commitment to ethical practices.
